FOOTPRINTS

One night a man had a dream,
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to him and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him
He looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
There was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life,
There was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

There is a hole, left behind, where Bas once filled with his words of wisdom :)

  10. Beautiful. I join with you and others for prayer for his family and friends. Thanks for posting "Footprints In The Sand". At one time, I know it was my husband's favorite. I haven't asked him for a long time if it still is. I just read your last post. I will pray for you in your decisions that you have to make. God bless you and yours, Belle L.

  13. I've seen this before Ami and love it every time! Bas was a wonderful guy and this is so fitting for him! I feel lucky to have ever crossed paths with him. His words on a single day, with a couple of others, changed the way that I think. It made all the difference. Hugs to you, Ami!

  14. Sounds like the rescue mission worked and you are in a more peaceful state of mind? Or just not able to sit down and write it? ;)

    1. The rescue mission did indeed work - temporarily! I am writing again, but so many interruptions around this household that I am finding it very difficult to concentrate. 'Rosy glows' are always persuasive!
