Saturday Snippets

As I am often a 'football' widow on a Saturday, I thought I might start a little fun post.  No particular subject matter, just keeping it light.  A miscellany.

I mentioned recently that Starman seems to have developed a boob fixation.  Could this be due to the 'wobble' factor during a spanking I wonder?  What part of the body does your HOH find the most intriguing?

*****

I still cannot sort out my  image of a two-toned blue face.  I've noticed, however, that when I post comments, the little thumbnail I chose always appears.  I've perused all the instructions, but nothing is where it should be, and nothing I press ever goes according to plan.  Like my life and everything else I suppose.  Perhaps this would be the best solution?

You didn't think you would get away without me mentioning cooking somewhere along the line did you?  This is a dish from Antonio Carluccio.  It's divine!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK

Sicilian Vegetable Stew

Ingredients:

800g aubergine                                       1 large onion, peeled and chopped
2 tbspn olive oil                                        3 ripe tomatoes, cut into chunky cubes
1 tbspn tomatoe puree, diluted the a little water
1 tbspn caster sugar                                20 green pitted olives
1 tbspn capers                                          1 tbspn  white wine vinegar
chopped leaves and stalks of 1 head of celery
1 tbspn raisins                                           salt and pepper
1 tbspn pine kernels (optional)

Cut  the aubergine into 3cm chunks, soak in cold water for 5 minutes, then drain.  This will stop the aubergine from absorbing too much oil.

Fry the onion in the  olive oil in a large pan for a few minutes to soften. Put the aubergine chunks into the pan and fry until soft and tender, about 10 minutes.  Add the tomatoes, diluted tomato puree, sugar, capers, olives, vinegar, celery leaves and stalks, raisins and some salt and pepper and stew slowly until everything is melted together, about 30 minutes.

Stir in the pine kernels, if desired, and serve either cold or warm as a side dish, or by itself with crusty bread.

Finally my joke of the week.

"While creating women, God made a promise to men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world.

He then smiled, and made the Earth round!"

Hope you enjoyed my little bit of fun.

I'm off to do the ironing now!  And remember.....

Bye for now....

  2. There is something strange with that fixation:
It needs to be round, soft and in 2-fold.
Boobs and butt, that's about it, I think.

I don't really understand your problem, but throwing the computer out of the window will probably only cause more problems.

    1. Round, soft and in 2-fold? I'll remember that!

Don't say you've never wanted to throw the computer out of the window at some stage in your life! I regularly have that attitude with the wretched thing!

  3. For my hubby, it's boobs but swear he's paying a whole lot of attention to my behind lately.

    1. Yeah, it's funny how the behind does tend to come in for a lot of attention these days. However, I have a man who likes to "nestle". What more can I say?!

  4. The recipe sounds delicious. I had to Google "caster sugar" but now that I know what it is, it shouldn't be too difficult to find. Thanks!

    1. Blogger will do what it will do and temper tantrums do not work. Been there done that.

Is an aubergine what we call eggplant? It sounds delish. Will have to give it a try.

I've got some ironing too, can I send it over. lol

Hubby is and always was a butt man, boobs notwithstanding.

    2. Kevan, Hi!

I think you might call caster sugar 'ground sugar'. It's the mid point between granulated sugar and icing sugar. I can tell you that this is a very quick and easy recipe, and the taste is divine.

      Hi Sunny!

      Stupid wretch Blogger!

Yes, aubergine is eggplant. And it is delicious.

I absolutely hate ironing. If there was ever a punishment designed just for me, it would be ironing! Especially mens' shirts! Oh how I loathe it! But I also loathe creased clothes that look as if they've been slept in!

I think perhaps most men are butt men; but it's nice to know that some like both boobs and butts. LOL

    1. Hey Ward!

There you are, just what I said above! Can't make up your mind!

It's a very good Italian recipe. I like it warm on crusty bread the best.

  6. "H" would probably say my bum, since He tells me that all the time, or just has hands all over it... Not much in the boob department for me :(

Oh and the bubble wrap thing made me laugh - when I was working at work instead of at home, we'd get in shipments DAILY and my co worker and I would fight over who got the bubble wrap!!

    1. Hi Emi,

You know, I love having my butt rubbed, especially at certain times! LOL But my boobs have always attracted Starman somehow. He says he finds them very comfortable! Now what should I make of that!

The bubble wrap is compulsive isn't it? We all love popping it when we get a parcel with some inside. It's very therapeutic.

  7. Ian is a unrepentant boob man and to a lesser degree, a butt man. I don't get it. I like men bums, of course, flat and hairy, please. ;)
I loved the recipe, thanks sweetie.

    1. Hello Lillie!

Do I suspect that Ian likes to 'nestle' too?!!! And I have to admit that when Starman nuzzles round it gives me thrills like you can't imagine. Now who would ever think such a thing?! I like mens' bums too. Starman has a lovely bum, exactly as you describe. I am always admiring it! Unfortunately I have 'boyish' hips. Firm and tight. I think it could be due to riding horses all my life. But I look at round, fat bottoms with envy! Oh, well, there's not a lot I can do about it now.

Glad you liked the recipe. I'll try and keep things seasonal. We still have snow here, and more to come!

  8. Cute post Ami and the recipe looks great - will have to give it a try.

As much as it would be so satisfying to just toss your computer out the window, send me an email and I will see if I can help you with your computer issues.

    Blessings,
    Cat

    1. Cat you are a darling! I am determined not to let the computer beat me. But I have downloaded all the instructions, and nothing works the way it is meant to. Why am I not surprised?! I will email you during the week if that's okay?

The recipe is good - try it. It seems to suit most people and is very easy.

  9. HI Ami, great fun post. The recipe looks great and the bubble wrap cracked me up, I can't resist the stuff LoL.

My hubby has always been both a boob and butt man but strangely, since starting ttwd his fascination with my butt seems to have increased.

    1. Hey Roz!

Yes, it's amazing how they suddenly express an interest in our bums! But I think Starman will always prefer my boobs as I have such boyish hips which tend to make my boobs look bigger than they actually are. We have to deal with what we're given don't we?

I adore bubble wrap. I just couldn't resist this little saying. I keep the card propped up in front of my computer. It's the place it is most needed these days!

The recipe is very good and wholesome. Comfort food. I have a lot more like it which I'll post each Saturday.

    1. I'll do a traditional British recipe next time Susie! I have to admit that if the men in this household don't get meat, they complain. But I like to include something for everyone.
